Register for a Postal Vote

It’s now even easier to vote by post and all the evidence shows that postal voters vote more regularly in elections.

Voting by post allows you to cast your vote before Election Day so making sure that if you work shifts or are away from home regularly and can’t get to a Polling Station, your vote will count. If you have caring responsibilities or just can’t get out, voting by post means you can cast your vote in your home in good time for it to count and make a difference.

The next General Election must be held by June 2010 but you can register to vote by post now. If you haven’t already registered with your local authority, you can do it by downloading a form from the Electoral Commission website by clicking here. You’ll need to have your post code to hand then follow the simple instructions.

You can say whether you want a postal vote at all elections or select the ones you feel you’ll need it most. If you need any advice or help, please get in touch by clicking here

We know from working with our union colleagues in America that union members talking to union members works in politics. That’s why we’ve created Unite4Labour.org so Unite members can contact fellow Unite members. To access the member-only parts of the site you’ll need to click on the register box and have your union membership number and post code to hand.
